Have Your Say on the Future of Droitwich Spa Lido!

Wychavon District Council is excited to share an £8 million improvement plan for Droitwich Spa Lido, and they want to hear your thoughts!

The plans, developed in collaboration with the Droitwich Spa Place Board, One Creative Environments, Gleeds, and Wychavon Leisure aim to enhance the Lido, a major visitor attraction in our district. The improvement project is part of a larger vision outlined in the Droitwich Spa Town Centre Investment Prospectus, which seeks to make Droitwich Spa a national destination for leisure and wellbeing. The improvements will also contribute to the regeneration of the town centre and help make the Lido financially sustainable, reducing its reliance on Wychavon funding.

Key proposals include:

• A safer, enhanced entrance from Worcester Road, with a dedicated footpath leading to the Lido.
• Wing extensions to connect the existing café building with the Art Deco building, which will be brought back into use.
• Replacing the current café with a brine pool, spa, and leisure facilities.
• A new café at the south end of the site, serving both Lido and Lido Park visitors.
• Upgrades to the appearance of the surrounding Lido area.
• An expanded swimming area for families, with the current free water play area relocated elsewhere within Lido Park to accommodate this.

Get Involved:

• Visit the Droitwich Spa Library to view the exhibition during normal opening hours.
• On Friday, 22 November, from 10am to 4pm, project team members will be at the library to answer any questions you may have.
• The consultation will be open until 11.59pm on Sunday, 15 December 2024. Please take a few minutes to share your views by completing a brief online feedback form (only five questions!).

Next Steps: Feedback from the consultation will be reviewed and presented to councillors in February, where they will decide on funding for the project.

This Lido improvement project is part of the wider We Are Wychavon Plan, focusing on leisure and wellbeing investments in Droitwich Spa.
